Documentary about Nataša Kovačević - Official Trailer
Back Us now on Indidegogo - - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/skok-the-leap-documentary-about-natasa-kovacevic-film-basketball#/
We are shooting a feature-length documentary film, “The Leap” about the amazing comeback of a lifetime Nataša Kovačević has made, and also about her mission to rouse the fighting spirit and motivation of other people with similar fates to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. This film is also a tribute to all those who have helped her to remain upright having lost her leg at the age of 19, and to accomplish a yet unseen feat in the history of sport. Her return to the basketball court meant more than all the great sport “comebacks” – it has made history and become and a source of inspiration throughout the world.

NCAA Women’s Basketball Rules Committee recommends tweaks
NCAA Women’s Basketball Rules Committee recommends tweaks
Panel proposes 4-foot restricted-area arc, inbounding rule change.
With the state of the game in good standing, the NCAA Women’s
Basketball Rules Committee has recommended only a few tweaks to the
rulebook.
Most notably, at its meeting this week in Indianapolis, the committee
proposed moving to a 4-foot restricted area arc in the lane for the
2017-18 season. Currently, the restricted-area arc is located three feet
in front of the basket.
A secondary defender must be outside of the arc and in legal guarding
position to draw a charge. If the player is in the restricted area when
the contact occurs, a block will be called.
All rules proposals must be approved by the NCAA Playing Rules
Oversight Panel, which is scheduled to discuss women’s basketball rules
changes on a June 13 conference call.
The committee also recommended allowing teams to choose from which
side of the court to inbound the ball after advancing it to the
frontcourt following a timeout in the backcourt. Currently, teams must
inbound the ball at the 28-foot line on the side where the scorer’s
table is located.
“The committee believes the game is in a great position, and the
changes made this week were to tweak but not significantly impact the
game,” said Brad Duckworth, chair of the committee and director of
athletics at Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Other rules recommendations
- The committee recommended eliminating the “use-it-or-lose-it”
timeout in the first half. If the change is adopted, coaches would be
allowed to carry all timeouts over to the second half.
- The committee proposed the 10-second backcourt count not be reset when the offensive team calls a timeout.
- The committee recommended officials be permitted to use replay to
determine if the release of the ball on a made basket occurred before
the shot clock expired.
- The committee proposed extending the coach’s box to 38 feet for the
2017-18 season. Currently, the coach’s box is 28 feet in length.
Committee members believe this will allow coaches to better communicate
with their teams when their players are on the other end of the court.
- The committee recommended that in order for a player who has been
in the three-second lane to avoid a three-second violation, the player
must place both feet on the floor outside the lane.

What really happens when a team travels to an away game? First, the preparation before the team leaves is unimaginable. Our Director of Operations spends hours booking flights and hotels, planning transportation starting at Boise State all through the weekend, planning 3 meals a day plus going shopping to get snacks for everyone, coordinating practice and shoot around times slots with the opposing school, organizing uniforms and an itinerary. As players, we spend the week prior to leaving coordinating homework and missing assignments with professors. Weekend games are the best, as we only have to worry about missing Friday Classes. However realistically an away trip is all business. We go from airport to hotel to gym to back to airport. In free time we are constantly catching up on homework and missing assignments. Any collegiate athlete knows the work it takes to travel for an away game. Any basketball collegiate player knows how tough it is to travel 3 days of the week while going to school full time.

Skills I've gained from basketball
As
I finish up my college basketball career it is natural to look at what
basketball has done for my life. Below are some of the skills basketball
have given me that has helped me grow as a person on and off the court.
The number one thing basketball has taught
me is that relationships are the focal point of our happiness. Our
support system and who we surround ourselves with can change the outcome
of any situation.
Skills I’ve learned from basketball:
- competitiveness
- communication
- teamwork
- reliability
- resilience
- time-management
- nutrition
- hardwork
- public-speaking
- responsibility
- goal-setting
- humbleness
- gratitude/appreciation
- accountability
- emotional-intelligence
- how to be a leader
- how to be a follower
- self-improvement
- discipline
- perserverance
I owe everything I am to the game of basketball.
